Homework 8
Start with a 200px x 200px white sqaure ona black background. Make 3 different examples using the variety of techniques of analysis - pitch detection, fft, autocorrelation, and volume detection.
1. Square on acid
Uses FFT to visualize the data. Song: Jane's Addiction-Chip Away.
2. Square all over the place
The location and color on the square change based on pitch while it's size changes based on amplitude. Song: Cubanate-Oxyacetylene
3. Not a square anymore
The number of points in the polygon and size change based on the amplitude while the color changes based on the pitch.
Homework 7
This assignment is made up of 3 parts.
a. Create a piece of sound for Antoninus
I created this sound for Antoninus. Can't wait to see the visual representation! This piece was created in GarageBand with a guitar, keyboard and a drum loop.
b. Make a drawing based on Nick's sound
Here's Nick's piece of sound and my visual representation of it.

c. Create a sound based on Nick's drawing
Here's Nick's visual representation of Eduardo's sound and my audio representation of it.

Homework 6: FFT
This assignment was has many sub assignments which are listed below.
a. using the volume level (get this by looking for a peak in the buffer) from audio input, make a form of interaction
Volume levels of audio input effect live video input. Done in collaboration with Nick H and Joe S.
b. Make a "volume" controlled switch
Joe is rudely awakened if the average volume level exceeds the threshold. In collaboration with Nick H. and Joe S.
c. use the FFT and find sounds which have
a very high frequency
Produced by hitting a steel fork on a ceramic bowl.
a very specific frequency
Produced with Ocarina iPhone application.
energy in all frequencies
Produced by crushing a plastic bag.
very low frequencies
Produced by a really annoying exhaust fan.
d. Use the FFT as input to make a visualizer for audio
Visualizing Chopin's Etude op.10 #07 with FFT and ofxMSAFluid.
