ASSIGNED TO CREATE AN ASSIGNMENT! :C
For week 3, we are supposed to create next assignment for ourselves. I was recalling what we
've experimented and practiced with both Zach and Taeyoon. As both of them said, we now have two different
directions of drawing practice: analog and digital.
DIGITAL
Property of gestures: velocity/ pressure/ linearlity/ fluidity/ curvature/ positional information/
rhythm(time)/ time(pts to pts)(duration)
ANALOG
Spacious relationships between objects/ grouping force and disperse/ details and textures on objects/
time (fast to eternal)/ drawing with constraints and extensions
So I was thinking about the relationships between the two, and my usual practice is transforming analog to digital.
For example, using tracking (color, object, shape) for digital input. First, my goal was to
track object color values (from real life, like Coka-cola can as red color input) and draw a line using
those color palettes. [and I am still working on this, right now trying to figure out ConvertHsvtoRgb....is an issue]
However then I wanted to reverse this practice. Why don't we convert digital into analog?
My assignment:
Convert digital drawing (generated with OF) into analog drawing.
More guideline: (this is kind of for me)
- Take one drawing that you've generated with OF so far.
- Make a drawing of selected OF drawing on your sketchpad.
- Look at it for 5 min very carefully.
- Come up with 3 words inspired by your own drawing.
- Make something with OF inspired by the 3 words came up to your mind
Ok I'm going to try this now. See how it goes.
